Why Raw Twig

It begins with the fabric, not the garment.

Fabric jewellery is where Raw Twig starts and where its identity lives — beads wrapped from reclaimed cotton, bandhani ribbon, hammered discs and a safety pin hung with small collected things.

Behind the Scenes

People ask why we work with old cloth.

Because it has already lived somewhere, and it shows.

The floral cottons, bandhani ribbons and block-printed scraps that become our beads do not arrive on a roll. They come from end-of-run lots, sample lengths, old quilt tops and the offcut bins of block printers in Rajasthan and Gujarat — a metre here, four

Each piece is cut into a strip, wrapped over a wooden core, tucked and stitched closed by hand. A single bead takes minutes. A layered strand takes most of an afternoon, and the maker is choosing colour relationships the whole way along.

Our aesthetic world is built on the beauty of the imperfect, the tactile and the handmade.

It lives at the intersection of soft architecture, material storytelling and quiet artistic confidence — sitting between artisanal luxury and earthy bohemia, with threads of creative utility running through it.

Every textile choice is a storytelling decision.

Fabric is the heartbeat of the brand.

Compact 60s cambric cotton sits underneath everything as the quiet base. Yarn-dyed linens and slubs carry the handfeel. Washed and raw-edge surfaces give the depth that only deepens with wear.

We can make more. We cannot make that one again.

Because every source fabric is vintage and finite, the combinations are never the same twice.

A colourway comes back slightly different, or does not come back at all. The patchwork on one tote will not repeat on the next. Some pieces carry a One of One badge and it means exactly what it says.

We stopped calling this a limitation in our product copy, because it is not a defect in the system — it is the system working. Low-volume, texture-led, emotionally differentiated, and positioned well beyond mass premium.

Raw Twig is made for a woman who dresses as an extension of her identity, not for the occasion.

She is emotionally expressive, creatively inclined, culturally aware and aesthetically evolved — often an architect, an artist, a stylist, a writer, a gallery professional. She buys objects rather than trends and remembers where each one came from.

That is why the collection ends with journals rather than garments. The neck piece says it outwardly. The journal says it to you. Made with nature, made with intention, made to be yours.

The Label

Every piece leaves
with its story sewn in.

Fifty millimetres of ecru muslin, frayed at the edges and stitched only along the neck seam, printed in a single green. It names no fabric weight and no wash code — those live on the care card. It tells you what the garment has already been through, and asks you to let it keep going.
